We recently supported a first-time buyer who wanted to purchase their first home shortly after changing jobs. Understandably, they weren’t sure whether it was the right time to move forward or whether a recent change in employment would limit their options.
We spent time talking through their situation and giving honest advice around what might work best — whether that meant waiting a little longer, reviewing their position once they were more settled in their new role, or looking at lenders who are comfortable supporting buyers in this position. Rather than rushing the process, we focused on helping the client understand their options and make an informed decision.
Once the right route was clear, we were able to move forward with an approach that suited their circumstances. The client went on to successfully complete the purchase of their first home.
They are now settled into their new home after Christmas and looking forward to making it their own — a great outcome after what initially felt like a worrying situation. Helping first-time buyers navigate decisions like this, and seeing them take that next step with confidence, is exactly why tailored advice matters.
