An appointed representative (AR) is a firm or individual authorised to carry out regulated mortgage and protection activities under the FCA permissions of a principal firm, in this case, City Mortgage Solutions Limited. Our appointed representatives are independently run businesses, but every piece of advice they give is overseen by us and subject to the same regulatory standards, compliance monitoring and client-outcome requirements as our directly employed advisers.
This structure lets experienced advisers run their own practice under a trusted, FCA-authorised umbrella, while clients get the reassurance of dealing with a regulated business backed by our compliance framework, complaints procedure and Financial Ombudsman Service coverage.
